Since November of 2017, The Writhers have been playing their own brand of “Horrorpunkabillydeathrocknroll”, a deadly and theatrical strain of punk rock described as “The Cramps and the Dead Kennedys in a knife fight”. They’ve performed with Argyle Goolsby of Blitzkid, Stellar Corpses, The Undead, Nim Vind, Michale Graves (formerly of The Misfits), The Spooky, The Gritty End, Drac & The Swamp Rats, 13 Wolves, PSO, Midnight Track, and many others.
If Horrorpunk breaks the commonplace punk rock mold then the Writhers strive to break Horrorpunk. Not only by incorporating Rockabilly and Goth musical styles, but also by tossing in a taste of Arthouse, Garage, and the Avant-Garde into the mix.
